Professional Summary

Around the age of ten, James started making up stories to entertain his younger siblings, often spinning out the same narrative across several afternoons. He only ever wrote down snippets (which seem to have mercifully disappeared), but if memory serves, one of these stories was a kind of sci-fi adventure in which talking animals go up against a race of malevolent aliens. Or something. 

Although his imagination may not have matured a great deal since then - he still prefers playing in the sandboxes of sci-fi, fantasy and horror - his skill and breadth of experience certainly have. He has written grant applications for nonprofits, product reviews of pop merchandise, scholarly papers on epistemology and metaphysics, heavily researched analyses of the film industry, and speculative fiction that explores everything from orgasmic hallucinogens to the cellular biology of vampires. 

All of which is to say - he loves to imagine and to learn, and to share what he finds with others. That, to him, is what writing is for. In his work, he pushes for scrupulous research, vibrant but concise prose, and logical clarity. Arrogance, bluster and disingenuity repulse him, as do black olives. He doesn’t repeat himself, avoids using too many adverbs, and loves referencing sources. He wants to find the beautiful, weird and fascinating parts of everything - be they people, places, artworks or brands. He wants to find out what’s weird, beautiful and fascinating about you and your business, and show that to the world. 

But the question is, do you want to be found?
